Dining

Pen-y-Dyffryn Country Hotel near Oswestry has the longest established AA Two Rosette restaurants in Shropshire – 20 years.

  • We are open to residents and non-residents seven days a week.
  • Our Head Chef changes the menu every single day of the year.
  • Ingredients are fresh, healthy, and locally sourced.
  • Drinks on the glorious terrace in summer, round the log fires in winter!
  • Is there a bar? Of course! And a long wine list majoring on organic and New World wines.

Hotels with good food can be difficult to find. But we know from talking to our guests that dining in our restaurant, with its huge, south-facing sash windows, is central to the Pen-y-Dyffryn experience. We are open to non-residents and are the longest established AA Two Rosette restaurant in Shropshire.

Our guests appreciate good food. Ingredients are healthy, locally sourced, and we tend to use organic produce. Game features regularly on the menu along with more traditional delights. And there is always at least one vegetarian choice at each course.

Our Head Chefs David Braddick & Lewis Barton have been at Pen-y-Dyffryn for several years now, and with the help of the kitchen brigade they make it their business to change the menu every single day of the year. It also varies in accordance with the changing seasons. Every night is surprise night, but there is always a choice of four dishes at each course, along with canapés and a surprise appetiser. Special diets can also be catered for as everything is freshly prepared each day.

Directions:

From the A5 head into Oswestry following signs to B4580 (Llansilin) through town. Leave town on B4580 and hotel is set back from road 3 miles from Oswestry centre.

Putting the family into Independent Family Business this weekend ahead of the Fishmore Hall team returning next week.
Grandparents, parents and brother were great value, as usual, but 6 week old niece Ivy Mae, while good entertainment value, could do with following in her big brothers footsteps and picking up a paintbrush or something. #💪🏼 #reopeningsoon #notlongnow #ludlow #shropshire

After receiving the wonderful news that we are able to reopen our doors on Saturday 4th july, we now begin one of the hardest challenges we have ever faced. Our main aim is to keep both our customers and staff safe, in order to do this we will have to adapt our business. Please bear with us while we navigate this unknown territory. We will have new systems in place and we ask you to be patient while we all adapt to these changes. We will keep you as updated as possible over the coming week and thank you all for your continued support. Its been lovely to hear from you all during lockdown, its given us all a little ray of hope that one day things will improve.
The battle to rebuild our business has only just begun.

As many of you may have seen Shropshire has been in the headlines the last few weeks due to unprecedented flooding. Shrewsbury town centre, Ludlow and Ironbridge have all been affected along with rural parts of the county.
